Counseling sessions are scheduled by appointment only. The fee is $150 per session (55 minute sessions).
There is no guarantee for how many total sessions may be needed, but I have found that for counseling to be successful - it needs to be regular. A good estimate is to plan on meeting weekly for at least 6 to 8 sessions; it may take more time, it may take less.
I am currently in-network for Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MA, and Cigna. If you are covered by Aetna, BCBS, or Cigna, use the button on the left to check my availabilty and schedule an appointment.
If you have Carelon, Decent, and Optum, I am able to see you through a company called Rula. Please contact me if you have Carelon, Decent, and Optum - so that I can connect you with Rula. I can also provide a superbill for my out-of-network clients to help with reimbursement.
If you are not filing insurance, all fees should be paid at the time of service. I will accept cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, ApplePay, Zelle, debit and credit cards, and health saving account cards.
All clients are responsible for payment of a scheduled appointment, even if they fail to show for our scheduled time together. The cost for missing an appointment will be approximately 25% to 50% of the full session fee. Cancellation of a scheduled appointment (to avoid this cost) requires a 24-hour notice.
Why am I charged a fee for an appointment that I wasn't able to keep?
Therapists work on a fee-for-service basis, so I am not paid for sessions that don't happen. Insurance companies do not reimburse for a missed appointment.
As you can imagine, I reserve an hour for you when you schedule an appointment. This is a bit different than when you go to see a primary care provider, who may schedule several patients around the same appointment time (or have short 15-minute appointments). I schedule one person at a time, usually with a short break between appointments so that clients do not overlap. When you don't show for one of our appointments, I don't have other people wating to see me during this time. If you know that you will be unable to keep an appointment that has been confirmed, please let me know in advance. Another client may be in need of an appointment and would like to utilize the time.
